Terms of Service – FLUX

This is a starting point drafted for FLUX's actual current setup. It is not legal advice – please have someone with NZ contract-law expertise review it before relying on it, especially once you have more than a handful of paying customers.
  1. The service. FLUX is a personal time-tracking and focus app. The core app runs free forever on a single device, no account required. A paid subscription, after a 7-day free trial, enables syncing entries across your devices and unlocks Efficiency Insights and extended report ranges.
  2. Accounts. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Each person needs their own paid seat to sync – a subscription never covers teammates automatically, even where a team uses Study Link (below).
  3. Study Link (shared/team studies). A subscriber may share a Study code with others so everyone's logging pools into one shared, anonymous Study. FLUX never attributes a pooled entry to the person who logged it, even to other members of the same Study. Each person contributing to a shared Study still needs their own active subscription to sync their entries into it.
  4. Subscriptions and billing. Sync requires an active subscription after the trial. Current pricing is NZD $9/month or NZD $90/year, shown at checkout and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancel any time and sync continues to the end of the period you've already paid for.
⚠ State your refund policy here – e.g. "We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods, but the 7-day free trial lets you evaluate FLUX before you're charged" – or a specific money-back window if you'd rather offer one.
  5. If a subscription ends. The app keeps working on each device, your synced data remains readable and exportable, and syncing of new changes pauses until the subscription is active again.
  6. Your data. Your entries are yours. We claim no rights over them beyond what's needed to run the service (see the Privacy Policy).
  7. Acceptable use. Don't attempt to disrupt the service, access other accounts' data, attempt to re-identify or attribute entries within a shared Study to a specific person, or use the service unlawfully.
  8. Availability and liability. The service is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and your data safe (including relying on our hosting provider's infrastructure), but we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies. Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
  9. Changes. We may update the service and these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use after that is acceptance.
  10. Governing law. New Zealand law; disputes in New Zealand courts.
